Please join us on Wednesday, October 13 at 8 p.m. Eastern for an exclusive donor webinar discussing the Equality Act, a pivotal piece of federal legislation that will cement nondiscrimination protections for the millions of LGBTQ+ people living across the country. The Equality Act is an essential piece of legislation that expands federal civil rights to protect LGBTQ+ people from discrimination in employment, housing, credit, jury service, and federally funded programs, such as those for health and education, as well as public places and spaces.
NCTE has been on the frontlines of the fight for full equality and is optimistic about where the Equality Act is, and where it might go. NCTE Executive Director Rodrigo Heng-Lehtinen, National Organizer Sybastian Smith, and Policy Director Ames Simmons will have an open conversation about what NCTE has done to advocate for the Equality Act and what we can expect as the Equality Act is considered in the U.S. Senate this fall. If the Senate holds a vote on the Equality Act before the webinar, the panelists will review the outcome and discuss what the future looks like post-vote.
The conversation will be moderated by NCTE's Development Manager, Sean McCarthy. We will also take questions from you, so please submit them in advance when prompted at the end of your registration, or come prepared to ask them during the event.
See you there,
