50 years ago, Sylvia Rivera, Marsha P. Johnson and several other trans and gender nonconforming individuals sparked what has become the modern day LGBTQ rights movement. Although we know there is plenty more work to do, we have made great strides in securing trans-inclusive policies at both the state and federal level. If ever there was a time to celebrate how far we have come, it is now. Happy Pride, NYC!
Our Trans Equality Rooftop Reception includes an open bar and light fare. It will be an opportunity for movement leaders and supporters to come together and socialize and celebrate. NCTE Executive Director, Mara Keisling will make remarks during the event. Join us for a conversation on the current state of transgender rights and NCTE's vision for the future of transgender equality.
